Rix Shipping donate ship rope for school community project
Rix Shipping is thrilled to have been involved in a community project to highlight and celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bransholme, Hull.
We donated the ship rope for the school community project in Bransholme, Hull to highlight the rich heritage of the area and celebrate its 50th anniversary.
Pupils and teachers of Cleeve Primary School, in Wawne Road, have come together to make the tree along with a local artist, which they will use to help teach children about the estate's history.
The three-metre-high tree, which now takes pride of place in the school's outdoor learning centre, takes on a nautical theme and is made from ship rope. It highlights the link between the first families from Hessle who moved into the estate.

Children from across the school helped build the tree, along with the East Riding artist, Mark Powers. The tree has been made from ship rope, donated by oursleves, and climbing rope.
The school said the project was one of many they were planning over the next year to help commemorate Bransholme's history.
